Hilton Head Island St. Patrick's Day Parade

Hilton Head Island throws a blockbuster parade to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. In fact, the festivities have been recognized as one of the best tourist events in the Southeast - and for good reason! This local tradition first started back in 1981, and today the parade attracts more than 20,000 people. Join the party at the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 15th starting at 3 p.m. Spectators will line Pope Avenue as the colorful procession passes along the island streets. Experience an authentic taste of Dublin right in the heart of South Carolina's beautifulLowcountry.

Each year, for the past 30 years, local businesses help make the parade ever bigger and better. Pack something green, and get a great spot along the sidelines to see festive floats and marching groups take centerstage. The community celebration represents local businesses and charities plus high school and university marching bands. The U.S. Marine Corps Brand will come in from Parris Island along with a full lineup of pipe and drum bands, local dignitaries, and the ever-entertaining Shriners. There will be so much to see and do all day long.

Soaring overhead, look up at the sky to see military jets of the Budweiser Clydesdales. The festivities also include a special appearance by musician Michelle Murray and other entertainers. Come see for yourself why this St. Patty's Day Parade has been named one of the top tourist events in the region. Plan a kid-friendly vacation for the whole family, or enjoy this cultural celebration at a romantic beachfront resort. Get more info about this Celtic event at http://www.hiltonheadireland.org/.
