River Dog Brewing Company
591 Browns Cove Road North
Ridgeland, SC 29936
RDBC has quickly earned the respect of serious craft beer enthusiasts in the Lowcountry. They offer a variety of styles but they are highly regarded for their IPAs and their barrel-aging program. Their tasting room is open Tuesday through Saturday (check their website for specifics) and they offer tours as well. If you’d rather take beer home to enjoy, pick up a freshly filled growler!
Hilton Head Brewing Company
1 Cardinal Court, Suite 13 (Brewing) & Barmuda Triange (Resturant)
Hilton Head Island, SC 29926
Hilton Head Brewing Company operates a restaurant and a separate production brewery, both on the south end of the island. Currently, the brew master and other staff are hard at work preparing for big brew days and the various events that are offered at the Brewing Company. The beer selection rotates seasonally and there are plenty of options for all sorts of palates. They recently started canning beer for your take-home pleasure.
375 Buckwalter Place Blvd., Bluffton, SC 29910
The newest brewery on the local scene, Southern Barrel, has won over locals with great beer, delicious New-American pub food, and a great environment. The state of the art brewery is putting out consistently great beer and is soon to launch a canning line. Check out their events schedule online and you might be pleasantly surprised with live music or a BBQ Cookout hosted by a local chef.
