If you're lucky enough to be on Hilton Head Island on December 5, 2014, you absolutely, positively have to make your way to the 7th Annual Blizzard at Blue Heron Nature Trail. Taking place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., this family-friendly festival will appeal to all ages and interests. You'll be treated to a whole host of free activities, including bouncy houses, arts and crafts from local artists, a cake walk, and snow. Yes, actual snow will cover the ground and for a mere $5, you'll be able to roll around in it, make a snowman, and whatever else strikes your fancy. Jolly Old St. Nick will also make an appearance and you'll have an opportunity to have your picture taken with him, also for a mere $5. Food and drinks will be available as well, everything from hot dogs and s'mores to hot chocolate.

When you attend the Blizzard at Blue Heron Nature Trail and partake in the fun snow action and/or take a photo with Santa, you'll be contributing to a very good cause. Proceeds from the event go to the Boys & Girls Club of Jasper County. If you're not familiar with this national organization, they provide a place for kids to go throughout the year to hang out with friends in a safe environment.
