DOLPHIN & NATURE CRUISE

Learn all about dolphins and other sea life and get a chance to see them for yourself! On this boat trip down Broad Creek and into Calibogue Sound, you’ll see important salt marsh ecosystems, with all the wildlife they support, like birds, fish, oysters, shrimp and crabs. Right at the place flooded in high tide and on land when the tide is low, salt marshes are some of the most productive ecosystems on the planet! In addition, you’ll see lots of dolphins, who love to eat the fish around the marshes. The tour is run by the Coastal Discovery Museum, which also runs other exciting tours during the summer, like the butterfly and sea turtle walks.

Take a 1.5 hour boat ride on a warm afternoon while listening to your guide give lots of interesting information about the area and its habitat, and why it is important to both land and ocean life. This cruise will be fun for people of any age, and it’s a perfect way to spark an interest in science in kids. Cruises depart daily all summer long, departing from the Broad Creek Marina on Simmons Road and running from 3:00pm-4:30pm. Admission is $19 for adults and $13 for children. This cruise will stop running for the year on October 30.
